Rebrand, raw content, team air fryer, Sponsor Hawk, travel
Hey,
It’s been far too long since my latest email so I’m not quite sure where and how to start.
A few quick bullet points are probably a good way to dive back in:
We changed the name of our agency from Damn Good Leads to Sales.co. We didn’t plan to rebrand but when we saw that the domain was available, we had to do it.
Our agency is still growing nicely. We made some huge steps forward on the delivery side and I learned a ton about operations and hiring. Will write more about this soon.
I relaunched my podcast, now with Ryan Doyle as the co-host. Highlights from the first episode:
"Building in public is not for people who are building actual interesting things"
"Higher testosterone might equate to higher revenue. At least I'm plotting that data for fun."
Traveled quite a bit recently. Bangkok, Vienna, Bratislava, Hamburg. Didn’t like Bangkok. Was positively surprised by Bratislava. Loved Vienna and Hamburg.
Launched a little side project today: Sponsor Hawk, a free concierge service for newsletter ads. Businesses looking to sponsor newsletters can fill out a simple form, and will then find newsletters that match their profile + budget. And of course, newsletters can submit their infos.
Started writing + publishing on my blog again. Wrote about The four agency games and how to play them, Radical Simplicity, and shared a few of my favorite Tactics, Principles and Frames.
I also started tweeting more again. Realized that what made Twitter great was always spontaneous, unhingend thoughts. Scheduling tools and threadbois destroyed the vibe. Now everyone feels like they have to put a ton of effort in. So I’ve decided to start posting whatever whenever I feel like it. No strategy, no scheduling. Just raw thoughts. Same goes for my blog, this newsletter, and the podcast.
I joined team air fryer. A ton of people I follow on Twitter rave about them. And since I kept talking about it my girlfriend bought me one for my birthday. Haven’t tried much, but everything I tried so far came up incredible. Bought organic chicken legs. Cut some vegetables. Mixed it all with hoisin sauce. Took 3 minutes of preparation time. Then put the chicken in the air fryer for 10 minutes, added the vegetables and waited another 10 minutes. Best chicken I had in a long time.
That’s it today!
Talk soon,
Jakob
